Our Vision

Webster’s defines Vacation as: “Leisure time away from work; devoted to rest or pleasure”.

It is this simple definition that inspires and drives everything that Northern Builders and Homes, Inc. believes in as a company. With daily lives being as chaotic today as they ever have been, it is very easy to find yourself saying, “I need a vacation”. Your vacation home should then give you the rest and pleasure that you seek.

Whether you choose one of Northern Builders’ standard model designs, a variation of one of these designs, or have a completely custom design in mind, Jeff and Brian will work with you from conception to completion, handling every phase of construction for you.

Our end goal being that, when completed, your family will have the vacation home of your dreams.

Our Roots

Although both Brian and Jeff have spent more than 20 years each in the building industry, their paths to Northern Builders are certainly different.

Having been a trim carpenter since his teenage years, Brian took a few years off from this work to serve his Country in the Marines. When his military career ended, Brian returned to the work he loves, that of construction and most noteably, trim carpentry. With an exceptional eye for quality and his refusal to accept what others may call “good enough,” Brian’s talents are what make the quality of a Northern Builders project not just a house, but a home.

Jeff’s career in the industry started about the same time his college career started. Having begun school at UW-Whitewater majoring in marketing, he took a part-time job at the local lumber yard. After a brief time there, Jeff was sent to the University of Minnesota for design training. While continuing his studies in Whitewater, Jeff completed his training at the University of Minnesota and went on to earn his degree in Marketing at UW-Whitewater. After graduation Jeff worked in both sales and design work. This was where Jeff came to understand the importance of helping individuals design and build a home that met not only their functional needs, but their architectural needs as well.

While their backgrounds are different, their goal is the same. To design and build a home that meets and exceeds not only their expectations, but the expectations of their customers as well.
